The Style Issue is Here!

It's that time of year again! The wonderful staff at Vanity Fair have revealed the international list of best dressed for 2010! To say this list is full of eclectic style is putting it mildly, but this year's list does celebrate individual taste not fashion trends (and for that we applaud).

Follow the link to check out the who's who in the fashion world and be sure to let us know what you think! http://www.vanityfair.com/style/features/2010/09/the-international-best-dressed-list-slide-show-201009#slide=1

Make it Work!

I will be the first to admit that I do not really understand the reality show craze. Surviving high school was more than enough drama in my book. This being said I must admit my guilty pleasure: Project Runway!

I adore coming in after a long day and turning on the television to watch Heidi, Tim, Michael and Nina mold the latest group of contestants into fashion designers. I don't even mind the drama. (and with all the hype all ready out about this season, drama doesn't appear to be in short supply)

So ladies, if you like me, have this runway obsession: rejoice! For tonight begins a whole new season! Tune in to Lifetime at 9/8 central (yes, earlier time) for all the last minute sewing and odd new challenges!

Plus follow this link:http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway to check out the contestants before hand and read Tim's blog!

Spice Up a Classic Look

Let's face it ladies, we tend to get into a mundane routine when it comes to work attire. We have acquired a few key pieces to keep the outfits interesting, but can you really spice up a button up shirt? Oh yes you can!

1) Take your basic button up and add interesting elements. Try an animal print, bright shoes and fun accessories to spice up your office look!

2) Dress it up with florals: Add a floral dress over your shirt for a flirty yet office friendly look.

3) Get Sporty With Cargos! You can go from casual day in the office to the game in this look!

4) Add sparkle! Place your favorite shimmery top over your button up, add a belt jeans and a hot pair of shoes and you are ready for anything!

5) Takin' It To The Beach: Use your favorite button up for a chic cover up this season! Really, is there anywhere this shirt can't go?

6) Add a bright blazer for a refreshingly bright look! Add white denim pants, hot shoes and this is a stop and stare ensemble!

Take these tips and spice up your office look in a flash! Be sure to stop by Studio 615 for great fashion finds and Sole of 615 for all the hottest new shoes!

Would You Wear a Shirt with Betty White on it?

I have adored Betty White for years! So of course, I am thrilled with her comeback on SNL and her new show Hot in Cleveland. But, I have to admit, I did not see this coming.

Betty White will be debuting her own clothing line! The 88 year-old comedian who recently unveiled her calendar, will be producing a line of T-shirts and hoodies with her likeness on them.

A portion of the proceeds will go to her favorite charity the Morris Animal Foundation.

Would you buy one? Let us know!

Yes, You Can Wear That!

I love to wear denim! I'm a true believer that you can dress denim up and look hot for a night out or dress it down for a casual yet completely cute look. However, as with so many things in life, there are a few gray areas; or should I say white areas? We have all seen an item in white denim and fallen in love only to worry about how to wear this article of clothing and look good! Well ladies, drag the white denim out!

1) White denim pants: These are perfect when paired with a colorful/floral printed top and statement jewelry. (Take this plaid sheer top from 615 for example.)

2) White denim shorts: These can be turned into a casual look to die for! Simply pair these with a chambray top (think light weight denim) and cute sandals! (Try Sole of 615 for the hottest sandals!)

3) Overalls: Though I have personally not tried this trend since I was little; you can make overalls grow up by adding a peasant top and boho jewelry.

4) White denim Jacket: I must confess, I love this item! I have had one for years that I adore and have gotten many compliments on. Pair this item with a playful printed skirt and fun accessories for a cute look that will turn heads!

5) Distressed Denim: Take a pair of distressed white jeans and pair them with dark accessories for contrast that will get attention! Go for a dark pair of sandals (try these from Sole of 615) and a black bag.

6) Pencil Skirt: Look polished in this item by adding a nautical striped top and wedge sandals (check out Juno in light brown from 615)!

Now for all of you who own any of these items but had yet to find the way to wear them well, rest easy! Pair these items and go out in style!

Be sure to check out all of the new arrivals at Studio 615 and Sole of 615! Drop by, go online to www.studio615clothing.com or call 615-321-4448 to place a phone order--yes, we still do those!

Polish Your Look

I love to try out new nail polish. This season one of the hot accessories is a great polish, but if you're like me you can have a difficult time finding just the right polish that's trendy but still you. Here's a look at the hot colors of the season:

1. Mellow yellow: Match the warm weather with this cheerful polish. If you think its too much try wearing it on your toes to give them a little pop. Try Hard Candy Just Nails Nail Polish in yellow.

2. Purple: Ladies, I love the color purple but it's hard to find a purple polish that would be office appropriate. Well, not anymore! Try Essie Nail Polish in Miss Matched for a great purple that can be worn anywhere.

3. Pale Blues: Oh yes ladies the pastels are back! Try OPI Nail Lacquer in What's with the Cattitude for a brilliant pale blue that's not tacky.

4. Blue Jean: You don't have to love pastels to still be in style! Try Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polish in Denim Dash for a deeper blue that you will fall in love with!

5. Dark Side: We all have days where we are moody maybe not sullen, but we just are not our happy bubbly selves. Express this mood with a lovely dark polish by MAC Nail Lacquer in Military.

6. Green: Ok, so the green grass look may throw you off but trust me; give it a try! This color screams outdoor fun & is worth experimenting with. Try Essie Nail Polish in Pretty Edgy

Now that you know the nail trends you can finish your look and be fierce from head to toe!

Are your girlfriends coming in and you have no plans? OR do you just want/need an excuse for a girls day? Either way, I devote today's blog to you.

The collection features looks b Christian Dior, Cristobol Balenciaga, Pierre Balman and many others. You'll find examples of daywear, cocktail dresses and evening wear made for royalty.

Guide To Be Instantly Sexier

We all have outfits that we know we look good in; but do we have the fashion know how to take these outfits from cute to sexy? Here are a few tips to help you add sex appeal to your wardrobe!

1) Undo a button. This is the easiest step you can take to add a little spice to a great classic. Undo a button just enough to show off your delicate collarbone.

2) Wear red. Yes, I have said this many times but it remains true. If you want to stop traffic at your next event step out in a wonderful look at me shade of red. Plus, it looks great on all skin tones and sizes--what more can you ask of one color? (And if you recall a previous blog, Studio 615 has some great new arrivals in this luscious color.)

3) Pencil skirt. Need I say more? Take a cue from Kate Bosworth and pair a leather skirt with a feminine top and pumps or dress your skirt down with a tank and sandals like Jessica Biel.

4) Show off some leg. Forget the cut-offs shorts can actually be a very polished look. Take Kate Walsh for example with her tailored look or create a more playful look like Rhianna.

5) Wear skinny ankle-length jeans. These jeans will play up your curves in all the right ways!

6) Sparkles. This look will draw all eyes to you! Go all out with a luminous mini dress or tone it down with simple separates that have a little shine.

7) Bare your shoulders. Ladies, we spend way too much time in the gym not to show off our shapely arms! Whether you choose to show off your hard work in a romantic asymmetrical dress or show both, you know its a trend that get you noticed!

8) Add a dash of animal print. Be it in shoes, dress or accessories, adding a little flash of leopard print is a great way to spice up an outfit.

9) Leather jacket. This item has gone from rebellious piece to a sassy wardrobe essential. Pair this item with shorts or a mini and you won't believe how fabulous you look!

Each of these tips will help you look hot as the temperature rises! Stop by Studio 615 to see all of our new arrivals (many that are included on this list) and don't forget to check out Sole of 615, our new shoe store.

Summer Style Rules from the Runway

I love the variety of styles that come along each summer. Ok, so the temperatures are rising but you don't have to let your style suffer because of the humidity; here are a few items straight from the runway to wear all summer and beat the heat while looking gorgeous.

1. Loose fitting pants: Call them slouchy pants if you want, but these can be effortlessly chic when paired with a vest. Add heels for a night out or flats for a perfect daytime look. Plus, no stuffing yourself into tight pants and smothering--seriously ladies, you can't go wrong with this look.

2. Printed Dress: A pattern is the summer's top option for rocking a feminine frock! For a completed look, throw on an abbreviated leather jacket, a long thin cardigan (belt it) or a menswear influenced tuxedo jacket (who doesn't love those).

3. Sunglasses: Is there a more vital summer accessory? I think not.

4. Clogs: I know, who thought these would become chic? This sturdy wood-heeled accessory is all the rage for sandals this season.

5. Woven Bag: No longer just for the beach, this bag is becoming fashionable in the day-to-day events. Who can say no to a new bag?

6. Army Green Jacket: Ok, so maybe you could wear this over dresses on those summer nights. I admit, it's a little too warm for this item during the day, but look at it!

7. Coral Polish: Get your nails to really shine and standout this summer with this lovely shade!

8. Stripes: I told you the striped T-shirt dress was making a comeback and now stripes are taking this season by storm!

Each of these items will add effortless glamour to your summer wardrobe and you will love the different variety each of these items offer! Happy Shopping.
